MS Conduit

Many types of pipes are used for piping applications in homes and industries. However, the most common and popular types of pipes are GI conduit pipes and MS conduit pipes. Both the GI pipes and MS pipes look very similar to each other. But the MS pipes are entirely different in terms of weight and strength.

MS Conduit Introduction

MS (Mild Steel) conduit pipes are carbon and steel pipes which use only 0.25% of carbon. Less use of carbon makes these pipes very simple to use and relatively less hard. Moreover, it also ensures the pipes' durability, ductility and malleability. In addition, these pipes can be easily welded and molded into different sizes and shapes according to the requirements.

The mild steel pipes are mainly used in plumbing, firefighting and HVAC (Heating, Ventilation and Air- Conditioning). MS pipes are coated with layers of paint and other metals to protect them from corrosion by making them long and lasting. These pipes are also capable of resisting critical environmental conditions.

What Are the Different MS Conduit Uses?

Mild Steel Conduit electrical pipes have different plumbing, heating, and industrial applications. Moreover, the primary uses of MS conduit pipes include the following:

  • Automobile industry
  • Furniture and decorations
  • Vending machines
  • Galvanized Fencing of Steel
  • Road Barriers
  • Parking barriers
  • Side railing on the road
  • Oil Pipelines
  • Agriculture and irrigation
  • Steel gates and windows

Various MS Conduit Types

Mild steel pipes are classified into three types pipes based on their thickness. The three MS conduit types include:

Class A

Class A pipes have the least thickness as compared to the other types. These pipes are also the least expensive and are mainly used in household activities.

Class B

Class B pipes have a medium thickness. These pipes can be used for both household and industrial activities. Commercial builders mainly use Class B MS pipes for constructing large buildings.

Class C

These pipes have the highest thickness diameter and are the most expensive type of mild steel pipes. These are not used for household purposes and are typically used in industries.

Advantages of MS Conduit Pipes

Due to mild steel pipes' versatile and cost-effective nature, they have stolen praise worldwide. However, using MS conduit pipes are also offering many other perks:

Reusable

Scrapped mild steel can be easily used for the production of mild steel. As a result, many industrial pipeline suppliers are using scrap materials to extract mild steel. That's why it is much cheaper than other iron ore pipelines.

Carbonized

With the help of carbonized process, the amount of carbon is decomposed in the mild steel pipes. Decomposing the carbon enhances the fatigue strength of mild steel.

Ductility

Ductility can be measured as how much a substance can be deformed. For example, strong substances like mild steel can be easily deformed because it has a good going with copper. Therefore, it can be easily welded into different shapes and sizes.
